Assignment (due 30 Sep 2013): Learning Styles Project

Create a Word document that has the following characteristics:

  1. Name, date, title of activity, appropriate page numbering, and a reference list.
  2. Go to the Index of Learning Styles Questionnaire and take the 40-question survey.
  3. Use the Windows Snipping Tool to cut out the graph associated with the report.
  4. Include this graph in the document. Create a figure caption for this graph and refer to it in the text. The figure caption should have the form: Figure 1. Results of Learning Style Questionnaire (Soloman and Felder, nd). Be sure to add this reference to the reference list following the referencing guidelines.
  5. Add a graph created with Excel that uses the results of the activity conducted in the START Seminar earlier today. Add an appropriate reference for this figure.
  6. Be sure both figures are of the same width (hold down the shift-key when dragging a handle to size an object in order to maintain an appropriate aspect ratio).
  7. The sections of the paper should be:
    Title page
Purpose of the activity (discuss the intended goal of this activity)
Results (this where the two graphs will be placed and briefly discussed)
Analysis of the results (discuss the similarities and differences between the two methods).
Discussions (discuss the benefits, if any, from doing this activity; did you learn anything about your learning style?)
Conclusion (brief summary of the project and your results)
  8. Please send an email with the attached file and bring a printout to class.

End of assignment.

We will use Excel next week and work on graphing issues. In the meantime, please come by my office to discuss your time tracking activity.

Assignment (due 14 October 2013): Learning Styles Project II

Create a Word document that has the following characteristics:

  • Analysis of the assessment tools  Discuss the similarities and differences between the three methods; evaluate these tools. Were the types of questions similar or did they inquire about different aspects of how you think and respond? Which, if any, of the three evaluation tools would you recommend to others?
  • Discussions  Discuss the benefits, if any, from doing this activity; did you learn anything about your learning style? Will you do anything different because of this activity?
