Climate Changes at Yucca Mountain
The Agency for Nuclear Project’s studies, (rock geochemical studies, investigations of ancient spring deposits, studies of past climate change models) suggest that wetter conditions will reoccur within the sites lifetime (Agency for Nuclear Projects, 1997).
This will increase groundwater flow and raise the water table level (State of Nevada, 1997).
Coupled with higher temperatures due to waste emplacement, changes to both natural and engineered barriers are likely and not easily predicted (State of Nevada, 1997).
