- Power plants: Southern Cali Gas Co. has 10 fuel-cell plants on-line in Caifornia. They provide energy to a hotel in Irvine, Hospitals in Anaheim and Riverside, and even the Santa Barbara county jail. California’s Pacific Gas & Electric Co. is gearing up for a 125 KW system. Fuel cell test are underway in Buffalo, Pittsburgh, and Atlanta. Japan has an 11-megawatt plant operating on Tokyo Bay.
