Notes:
Methanol is a liquid fuel produced mostly from domestic natural gas. It can use the existing gasoline fueling infrastructure.
Are similar to PEM cells because they both use a polymer membrane as an electrolyte.
They are about 35% efficient.
Operate at a temp between 120-190 Degrees F. The higher the temp, the greater the efficiency.
They are relatively inexpensive to manufacture, has no moving parts, runs relatively cool, and is highly efficient.
It converts more than 34% if the energy of the methanol into useable power. That is twice the efficiency of current gasoline engines.
