Introduction to PV:
The term solar energy generally refers to the direct conversion of the sun’s rays into energy in forms that can meet the needs of humankind (Craig et. al., 2001).
High quality energy-involves some form of solar concentrator or a physical or chemical process that produces electricity, or a chemical fuel such as hydrogen (Craig et. al., 2001).
High quality solar energy refers to the generation of temperatures above 100 C, the sun’s rays may be concentrated using lenses or mirrors, or the radiation may be allowed to fall on a material with which it can interact to produce a chemical reaction or an electric current (Craig et. al., 2001).
