Cambrian Systems, Inc. (CSI)
located in San Antonio, Texas, was formed in 1993
to develop educational software. Our objective is
to develop scientifically accurate educational
software and to provide the kinds of teacher
training programs that best serve the changing
needs of students.
GETITTM
is our current educational initiative. In 1995,
together with the Geological Society of America, we
received a grant from the National Science
Foundation (Grant
# 9450251 ) to develop
GETITTM,
an earth science curriculum appropriate for the
middle school grade level (grades 6-9).
GETITTM
uses computers to provide a truly interactive
teaching tool. Students must analyze and evaluate
data, conduct experiments, and interpret their
results.
The principals of CSI
collectively have over forty years of first-hand
experience teaching geology and environmental
sciences at all college levels. They have a long
and successful working relationship with each other
and with major corporations including collaborative
work on National Science Foundation projects,
grants from private industry, and team-teaching in
the classroom.
CSI is a privately held
corporation and actively pursues opportunities for
development of educational and training software.
