Vermont Land Trust

Since 1977 VLT has helped protect more than 389,000 acres throughout Vermont, including 428 operating farms. The Vermont Land Trust (VLT) is a state-wide member-supported, nonprofit land conservation organization. The mission of VLT is to conserve land for the future of Vermont. VLT does this by providing technical and legal assistance to individuals, communities, and local land trusts helping them achieve local conservation objectives. VLT's Conservation Stewardship office is responsible for the long-term monitoring of easements to ensure that the conservation goals are upheld in perpetuity. Land Link Vermont

Land Link Vermont is a farm transfer program that connects beginning and relocating farmers with farmland owners and farming opportunities. Land Link Vermont addresses obstacles farmers face in securing and transferring farms: locating an appropriate site, exploring land access options, and learning the steps of farmland and asset transfers.

University of Vermont Center for Sustainable Agriculture

The Center for Sustainable Agriculture was established in 1994 as a unit within the University of Vermont College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to integrate university and community expertise to promote sustainable farming systems throughout Vermont and the region. The Center works with academic departments, public agencies, private organizations and producers to find innovative solutions to the complex challenges facing today's farmers. Our vision is that Vermont will be a place where farming is profitable, diversified, and resource conserving; where farm families enjoy their quality of life; and where there is strong public support for a thriving agriculture. Vermont Community Loan Fund

The Vermont Community Loan Fund (VCLF) believes in strengthening Vermont's economy through its greatest assets, land and people familiar with rural culture. VCLF seeks to further restore and grow Vermont's productive land by combining its financing and technical assistance expertise to increase opportunities for individuals seeking to make a living working the land. By providing access to capital and technical assistance in addition to farmland conservation, VCLF strenghtens individual farm businesses and builds a strong community infastructure.
