The SPR was a great idea that has served its purpose several times as in the year 2000 when heating oil prices sky-rocketed. Since 1977 the SPR has aided in helping the oil market, by lowering prices. We believe that the SPR will serve its purpose as a emergency supply of oil. With prices of oil yet to be determined this reserve may be well needed in the near future.
