US Strategic Petroleum Reserve

Abstract

Thesis: Since its creation, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve has grown to four major facilities and three smaller sites currently holding a total of 542 million barrels of crude oil. With authorization of the President, oil can be withdrawn from this reserve if a crisis is imminent. To suit our ever growing population, this needed and wisely planned reserve is only big enough to handle brief disturbances and aid in keeping oil prices low.
