PV in the Future:
San Francisco is proposing to install enough PV cells on public buildings in the next few years to provide one-third of the cities electrical power. In a separate proposition they also want to provide bonds that will allow 50 Megawatts of PV cells to be installed on homes and businesses. This is enough power to supply 50,000 homes (LOE, 2001).
“by the year 2050 the whole of Europe’s electrical requirements could be met by solar power” (Bond 2000).
