Thesis:
When environmental impacts are taken into consideration, photovoltaic (PV) power is a viable source of electricity. It is produced from a perpetual source, and it produces little in the way of environmental impacts. High costs per kilowatt-hour and unappealing visual designs have kept photovoltaics from gaining supporters. However, reductions in the cost of production, increasing efficiencies, net metering, and new designs have helped photovoltaic electricity become cheaper to produce, and more visually appealing.
