Three Mile Island (TMI)
Worst Nuclear Power Plant disaster in the history of the United States.
On March 28, 1979, the unit 2 reactor core overheated and resulted in the partial melting of the fuel rod cladding and uranium fuel.
There were no acute deaths associated with TMI. (Stephens, 1980)
