This is a first response regarding the question of phone books:
"we can keep all area phone books in the RA office. The JSC switchboard usually notifies us when the phone books arrive. The RA office is open from 9pm-1am.Other than that, the student can find a staff member to get access to the books in the RA office or he/she can always visit the public safety office or the career services office as both carry phonebooks as well."

Van driver training courses will be held on 1 Sep 06 at 10:00 a.m. and 8 Sep 06 at 3:00 p.m.; call Heloisa Herder at 635-1240 to register. To be certified as a driver, students must be 21, have a clean driving record, and pass the JSC drivers course (through public safety).

Assignment (due 6 Sep 06): Choose a treaty, convention, or protocol from the list (or come up with one of your own) to be used in conjunction with the research project see the syllabus for more information.
Wednesday: introduction to Bloom's taxonomy, the methods of science, and use of the apostrophe.
Each student in the class chose a treaty, convention, or protocol as the basis of their research project. Please find the original document.

General comments from the first draft of the project (the assigment that was due on 22 Sep 06):
Fall Break begins on Wednesday and continues through Tuesday of the following week. That schedule means that we won't be meeting this week.
Wednesday: review of the decision making model and discussions related to the research project.
Assignment (due 13 Oct 06): Continue development of the Word document; include several paragraphs, data and images; proper references (for figures, in text, and in reference list). Create a third section in the document and label it Appendix 1. Put the text of the treaty in this section. Use the following format for the page numbers in this section: A1, A2, A3...

Dr. Jim Black will join our group for a discussion of the Decision Making Model on Wednesday; representatives of the Student Government Association will join us on Friday.
Assignment (due 6 Dec 06): Chex will submit her Illustrator project; Tim, Cara and Will will submit a Word document. Follow the slightly modified grading rubric for this draft.
Assignment (due 13 Nov 06): Everyone submits a PowerPoint presentation and makes a 20-minute presentation. Follow the grading rubric (the same one we used for the previous draft).
