Dioxin in our Life

Dioxin is the name given to a group of synthetic organic chemicals that is an unintentional byproduct of many common industrial processes. It is formed from use of chlorine when making paper, or when products like PVC are burned. Dioxin has been found to be carcinogenic at very low levels of exposure, yet many foods we consume today contain dangerously high levels of dioxins. There is a possibility that dioxins are leading to the rise of numerous medical problems worldwide. At this point in time, it appears that dioxin pollution is one of the more significant environmental problems we are facing.
