Wetlands for the Next Generation
Wetlands are among the Earth's most productive ecosystems. The United States is losing between 32,600 and 100,000 acres of wetlands a year due to human negligence and weak regulation enforcement by the government (CRS, 2001). In order to preserve the remaining wetlands, the necessary government departments need to reform and/or enforce the current laws and regulations that will determine the fate of the wetlands. |
