Only one percent of the water on Earth is available for human consumption. In the Middle East the water resources are so depleted that the amount of good drinking water in the area is becoming more priceless every day. Quality water is at an all time low in the Middle East, and the Tigris and Euphrates rivers supply the only water used by millions of people living in this region. Today, there is not enough water to irrigate farmland for food, and with the projected population to rise from 97.5 million people in 2001 to 109.5 million by 2005, there is a desperate need to solve the water resource problem in the Middle East. These pages will provide information of what kind of projects are creating and are helping solve the water resource problem.
