Anything done to help wildlife can be considered wildlife management.  Scientific knowledge and technical skills can be used to assess, protect, conserve, enhance, create, or limit wildlife habitat.  Another important component is the implementation of laws and regulations that govern the use of wildlife habitat and the species, kinds, and amounts that can be harvested.  There are many different management techniques used to increase, maintain, or limit wildlife habitat and populations.  Management of wildlife is important because it provides us with beauty, recreation, economic opportunities, and maintains our quality of life by sustaining healthy functional ecosystems.  Management is also important in reducing the conflict among species, most importantly humans.
