The disposal of materials by means of ocean dumping has, and will continue, to degrade the quality of ocean water.  This will effect marine vegetation and all the creatures that live in this vast saltwater environment.  Along with plastics, metals, glass and paper being dumped into the ocean, other substances such as radioactive waste, industrial waste, and sewage sludge are continuously being discarded into the ocean as well. It    is up to individuals, as well as big corporations, to take responsibility and properly dispose of trash in order to make the oceans a healthier, less polluted and more livable environment for marine flora and fauna, such as these unfortunate sea lions in Figure 1.
